Their are several different opinions in the media about high fructose corn syrup. Many say it is just a alternative to sugar and many(Including myself) say it is very harmful to our body. Digging in I came across some articles on the internet that displayed many health problems that come with digestion of many processed foods and drinks containing High fructose corn syrup. There are several websites that all share the same stated health risks so i chose the two basic ones that provide the health risks up front.

- Damage to your immune system (Mercola, 2014)
- rapid/increased aging process (Mercola,2014
- Variations of mercury poisoning ( Mercola, 2014)
- Weight gain and Obesity (Group,2010)
- Elevated cholesterol (Group, 2010)
- Liver damage ( Group 2010)
Just from looking at the health risks above it is easy to see that food or drinks containing High Fructose Corn syrup are harmful for your body. It can be proven that High fructose corn syrup is not a acceptable alternative for sugar in any way what so ever. When shopping you should be well aware of what is in your produce and try to avoid anything that might contain High Fructose Corn syrup.
